Class representatives

Do you want to contribute to making the education at USN even better? Then the role as class representative may be the right role for you. As a class representative you will have the opportunity to represent your class in meetings with lecturers and course supervisors and to help improve the experience of current and future students, both academically and socially.

Being a class representative means being the link between your class and USN staff, and between your class and the student council. You will be class's spokesperson when the class wants to report issues relating to their study situation at USN and contribute to finding good solutions.

Your tasks as a class representative:

  • Be available for your class and issues they want to raise about their study situation
  • Make sure that the cases your class reports are dealt with, either by you or your student council leader
  • Attend student council meetings once a month to discuss relevant issues with other class representatives at your faculty
  • Attend meetings with course supervisors in connection with course evaluations

For each class there should be one class representative and one substitute. The class can either have a physical or digital election. When the class has elected a representative and a substitute, it is important that they remember to register before September 15.

Training

When you have registered you will receive an invitation to a room on Canvas called "Opplæring for tillitsvalgte". Here you will find a short and simple introduction to the role as class representative and your responsibilities. We urge you to go through this digital training so that you know what the role as class representatives includes. You will also be contacted by your faculty representative by e-mail and on Teams concerning meetings with the student council.
